UNDER-FILM CORROSION IN STEEL STRUCTURE - THE SILENT DESTROYER BENEATH PROTECTIVE COATINGS

In the steel structure industry, many believe that a visually flawless paint coating is enough to ensure proper steel protection.
In reality, under-film corrosion is a serious and often overlooked threat. It develops beneath the coating, silently attacking the steel while the surface still appears intact.
Key Causes
- Bề mặt thép làm sạch không đạt chuẩn (Sa 2.0–Sa 2.5), còn dầu mỡ, bụi bẩn
- Thi công sơn khi độ ẩm cao, bề mặt không đảm bảo chênh lệch điểm sương
- Thép “hở mặt” quá lâu sau phun bi/phun cát, hình thành lớp rỉ mỏng khó quan sát
- Sử dụng hệ sơn không phù hợp với môi trường làm việc
Rỉ âm trong kết cấu thép - "Kẻ phá hoại thầm lặng" dưới lớp sơn bảo vệ
Nguy hiểm của rỉ âm
- Bên ngoài không thấy dấu hiệu bất thường
- Bên trong, rỉ sét phát triển, làm mất liên kết giữa sơn và thép
- Khi sơn bắt đầu phồng rộp hoặc bong tróc, mức độ ăn mòn thường đã rất nghiêm trọng
Cách phòng ngừa
- Làm sạch bề mặt đạt tiêu chuẩn kỹ thuật
- Kiểm soát nghiêm ngặt độ ẩm & điểm sương khi thi công
- Lựa chọn hệ sơn chống ăn mòn phù hợp với môi trường sử dụng
- Tuân thủ đúng thời gian giữa các lớp sơn
